A transformative training on food quality and standards was held in Iringa to equip entrepreneurs, food processors, and industry professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to boost Tanzania’s food processing sector.
Organised by SIDO-Iringa and TAPBDS, the two-day training at the SIDO-Iringa Conference Hall focused on helping participants establish quality control systems and effective business strategies to meet the growing demand for high standards.
Also, it should be revealed that 61% of processed food products in Tanzania are locally produced. This highlights the need for better food standards, improved product quality, and reliable market access to support the sector’s continued growth.
The training equipped participants with practical expertise in business management, product quality, market entry strategies, operations management, hygiene protocols, and quality assurance practices.
