Mr. Octavian Pastory, a Field Officer at TAPBDS, recently met with Erick Kagoro, the Director of JEAA Agro Company, to discuss collaborative efforts aimed at empowering young entrepreneurs engage in agricultural mechanization in Missenyi District of Kagera Region, Tanzania.

The meeting focused at formalizing a partnership with JEAA Agro, one of the key distributor of agricultural equipment in Missenyi district, to strengthen the company’s service delivery and sales while expanding its network of young entrepreneurs involved in the agricultural mechanization business through YEFFA project.

According to Tanzania National Agriculture Survey (2017/2018), 45% of farmers in Tanzania still rely on traditional methods, with fewer than 10% adopting modern practices or technology. This statistic underscores the pressing need for similar initiatives to bridge the gap.

With TAPBDS serving as a critical link, strategic partnerships align with AGRA’s YEFFA project funded by Mastercard Foundation whose goal is to create sustainable opportunities for youth in agriculture by focusing on equipment leasing, service delivery, equipment maintenance, and training expecting transition from traditional farming methods to modern, technology-driven practices in Tanzania.
