In September 2025, a joint monitoring visit by TAPBDS and AGRA to the Nyanimba block farms in Nyakitonto ward, Kasulu District uncovered the profound, life-changing impact of the YEFFA Project. The visit, designed to assess project progress and connect with beneficiaries, revealed how young farmers, equipped with modern techniques and tools through partners like TAPBDS, Smart Village Foundation, and Nyakitonto Youth for Development Tanzania (NYDT), are turning undeveloped land into thriving agricultural enterprises.

One beneficiary’s journey perfectly captured this transformation, explaining how he expanded his farm from a single acre to sixty acres. This success story is a testament to the power of combining ambition with the right support. The group of young farmers, who have been granted farm plots by the Tanzania Forest Service (TFS), are now preparing to cultivate maize and beans and are actively expanding their team. Their direct request to AGRA and TAPBDS was for access to better farming tools to help them achieve yields and income comparable to their peers. As one farmer noted, they trust TAPBDS because it remains the leading provider of modern agricultural technologies and equipment in Tanzania.

The visit also highlighted the story of Zakayo Michael, a YEFFA beneficiary who acquired a multi-crop thresher with support from TAPBDS. In less than four months, Zakayo has generated over two million shillings in profit from his mechanization service. More importantly, he has created sustainable employment, directly hiring six young people and indirectly employing a seventh for transportation. His success provides a clear, scalable model for how a single piece of machinery can create a ripple effect of economic opportunity within a community.
