Young people running agribusinesses in Tanzania’s key value chains including sunflower, maize, rice, vegetables and fruits are at the centre of a new wave of enterprise support. In November 2025, AGRA Tanzania, in partnership with IMED Limited and TAPBDS Company Limited, rolled out free entrepreneurship and business growth training for youth-led enterprises under the Youth Entrepreneurship for the Future Food and Agriculture (YEFFA) Program.

The initiative targets young agripreneurs who are already running businesses but need structured support to grow. Through TAPBDS’s leadership on curriculum design and facilitation, participants are being equipped with practical skills in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and business management, alongside exposure to tools for tracking performance and planning for expansion. The goal is clear: to empower youth-led agribusinesses to become investable, resilient and profitable enterprises within Tanzania’s food system.

The trainings, which commenced on 15 November 2025 in selected regions, are delivered through localized sessions and partner networks to ensure accessibility. Participants are supported to understand how to manage cash flows, how to structure their enterprises for growth, and how to connect with market and financing opportunities. As a leading implementing partner, TAPBDS is ensuring that the YEFFA Program does more than raise awareness—it builds a generation of youth agripreneurs who can confidently compete, scale, and contribute to national and regional food security.
