SMEs in Iringa received support to overcome challenges in leadership, governance, and operations through NAFAKA’s Business Development and Entrepreneurship Coaching (BDEC) Project, where TAPBDS provides strategies and skills to help them build stronger, competitive businesses.

TAPBDS organized training sessions to empower SMEs in business management, covering purchasing, processing, sales, and marketing, to foster a supportive business environment and reduce growth challenges.

SMEs in Tanzania contribute over 35% of GDP and employ 20%–30% of the workforce but face challenges like weak leadership skills, limited access to finance, and operational inefficiencies. For instance, 78% lack structured business plans, and 65% struggle with financial and market access (TPSF, 2022).

To address these issues, TAPBDS offers coaching and mentorship to refine business strategies, complemented by training sessions where industry practitioners such as regional cooperative officers, TRA tax education officers, and financial institution credit officers are invited to share practical guidance on tax compliance, financial management, and cooperative governance.

Contact TAPBDS for such comprehensive approaches that equip SMEs to improve operations and drive businesses growth.
