TAPBDS brought together government officials and other stakeholders in Dodoma, to discuss how business development services can help address key challenges in agricultural mechanization by improving access to and adoption of mechanized equipment for youth and young women engaged in agriculture.

As one of the implementing partners of the Youth Entrepreneurship for the Future of Food and Agriculture (YEFFA) project—an initiative by AGRA supported by the Mastercard Foundation, TAPBDS focuses on promoting mechanization with the aim of introducing innovative solutions tailored for local value chains to move away from traditional practices.

In Tanzania, 70% of youth and young women engaged in agriculture face challenges in accessing affordable mechanized equipment, hindering their potential for growth and efficiency (Tanzania Ministry of Agriculture, 2023).

TAPBDS approach helps farmers learn and adopt mechanization practices that meet their specific needs, creating opportunities for young entrepreneurs in 12 regions of Tanzania to boost productivity and drive agricultural growth.
