As part of an ongoing capacity-strengthening assignment at Mavuno Millers Limited (MML), TAPBDS led a comprehensive workshop for Agricultural Marketing Cooperative Society (AMCOS) leaders from 17–21 November 2025 in Mpanda Town, Katavi. The initiative is designed to answer a critical question: How can farmer organizations and processors work together more effectively to build stable, mutually beneficial supply chains?
Responding to specific requests from AMCOS leaders for deeper understanding before entering supply contracts, TAPBDS experts delivered sessions on Market Linkage Principles, Risk and Resilience Practices, and Supply Contract Management. Facilitators Joseph Migunda and CPA (T) Gloria Kalyoto guided participants through practical exercises on evaluating contract terms, managing production and quality risks, and building resilience against market and climate shocks. These sessions followed a detailed production capacity assessment, through which selected AMCOS were identified as capable of meeting MML’s future production needs.
In parallel, TAPBDS conducted in-store coaching sessions with MML staff, supporting improvements in marketing, staffing, and financial management systems. Through this joint approach, TAPBDS is helping MML to scale responsibly by strengthening both its internal operations and its network of supply-side partners. The assignment is implemented within the framework of the DREAM Project, led by MercyCorps in Tanzania, with TAPBDS serving as a key technical partner translating project goals into practical, field-level change.
